VocaDo

Privacy Policy

VocaDo records your voice so that you and your clinician can see how it changes. This page explains exactly what is recorded, where it goes, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Draft for internal review — not yet in force. This wording has not been reviewed by a lawyer or by a data-protection adviser, and several statements below describe how the system works today rather than how it is intended to work. 1. Who we are

VocaDo is made by VocaVibe LTD, a company registered in Israel, with offices in Tel Aviv. VocaVibe is the data controller for the information described here — meaning we decide what is collected and why, and we are the ones you can hold to this policy.

You can reach us at info@vocavibe.ai.

2. What we collect

Everything below comes either from you, from the clinician who invited you to use VocaDo, or from the app measuring your recordings.

WhatWhere it comes fromWhy we have it
Your phone number You, when you sign in It is how we know who you are — VocaDo has no password. We send a one-time code to it by text message each time you sign in.
Voice recordings The microphone, while you are doing a practice task The recording is what your clinician listens to and what our measurements are calculated from.
Measurements taken from your voice Calculated from your recordings Loudness, pitch, clarity, speaking rate and steadiness. These are what the progress charts are drawn from.
Your practice record The app, as you use it Which tasks you did, when, how many times, and how long for.
Conversations with the in-app companion You, when you choose to talk to it Free conversation is itself speech practice. Both what you say and the reply are kept.
Health information about you Your clinician, in the dashboard Your condition, your practice plan, date of birth and sex. Your clinician needs these to set the right exercises; some measurements are read differently for different voices.
Basic device information Your phone Device model and operating system, so we can tell whether a problem is specific to one kind of phone.

Your voice, and the health information your clinician records, are sensitive personal data. We treat them accordingly, and we ask for your explicit agreement before recording anything.

3. How recording works

This is the part people most want to be sure about, so we will be plain about it.

4. Why we use it

We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to build profiles for anyone other than you and your clinician.

5. Our legal basis

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on:

Withdrawing consent does not undo processing that already happened lawfully, but it stops any further recording.

6. Who can see it

We will also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's life or safety.

We do not currently use your recordings for research. If we ever want to, we will ask you separately and specifically, and you will be free to say no without losing access to the app.

7. Companies that process data for us

CompanyWhat they do for us
Google Cloud / Firebase Hosts the database, stores the recordings, runs our server code, and provides the language model (Gemini) behind the in-app companion, Maya. If you choose to talk with Maya, what you say in that conversation — your voice recording and its words — together with your first name, age, sex and the areas you are working on, is sent to Gemini to generate her replies. The app asks your permission before the first conversation, and you can withdraw it in Settings.
TextMe Delivers the one-time sign-in code to your phone by text message.

These companies act on our instructions under contract, and may not use your data for their own purposes.

8. Where it is stored

Your data is currently stored in the United States, on Google Cloud infrastructure. We are moving it to a region in Israel, but that move has not happened yet and we would rather tell you where it is today than where we intend it to be.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, this means your data is transferred outside your region. We rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses with our providers to cover that transfer. Israel has an adequacy decision from the European Commission, so the planned move will simplify this.

9. How long we keep it

10. Your rights and choices

You can ask us to:

How to ask, today. These controls are not yet built into the app. Email info@vocavibe.ai, or use the deletion request page, and we will act on it within 30 days. You can also ask your clinician, who can reach us on your behalf.

11. How we protect it

Your data is encrypted while travelling between your phone and our servers, and encrypted where it is stored. Access is restricted by rules that check who is asking: a clinician can only reach the patients of their own clinic, and a patient can only reach their own records. Staff access is limited to what a person needs to do their job.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data and puts you at risk, we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

12. Children

VocaDo is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 without a clinician and a parent or guardian involved. If you believe a child has used the app without that, contact us and we will remove the data.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app and ask for your agreement again where consent is the basis for it. The version and date at the top of this page always tell you which wording is current. Every wording we have ever shown is kept on record, so a consent you gave can always be matched to the exact words you saw.
